Mickey Clark, Managing Director, OutsiderMD
Small Business Coaching Sit-down
Most small business owners know the loneliness of dealing with difficult employee issues, incessant cash flow worries, and the sheer difficulty of running a business.
Consider carefully Andre Agassi's comments at the 2018 Australian Open: “To go it alone and not get access to things tried and lessons learned is an unforced error… I always surround myself by knowing my weaknesses and filling those gaps. You do it in business, you do it in life, and doing it on the tennis court...”
But even like elite athletes, all of us are good at some things - none of us are good at everything.
You just might benefit from a pair of fresh eyes, experience, wisdom, empathy and a new plan of attack.
Please meet our Managing Director, Mickey, who's offering a complimentary OutsiderMD Coaching Sit-down meeting: time for you to sit back, talk about what’s working, what’s not, and what can be done about it.
What is it?
OutsiderMD's Coaching Sit-down is really quite simple.
You contact us (below). Mickey schedules an informal sit-down, over a coffee or beer, in which we talk about what's working, what's not, and agree on a few new things to start to change your business:
- Do you have any specific areas needing immediate attention?
- Do you need to find easier ways to manage the business, to get your life back?
- Does the business have any immediate sales, cash flow, or profit problems?
- Does it have personnel, delegation or productivity problems?
- Does the business need to scale and grow?
We agree on a few ways to start change, set up a back-of-napkin plan, and we follow up with another chat in the following weeks.
What does it cost?
OutsiderMD's Coaching Sit-down meeting is offered at no cost and no obligation. This is an informal sit-down meeting that could start a new journey to changing your business, and just maybe, your life.
What do YOU get?
The OutsiderMD Coaching Sit-down gives you several things:
- Control - if you want to direct the discussion, that's fine. If you're not sure what is most important to talk about, Mickey is quite comfortable providing guidance on the most common areas small businesses have difficulty with. If we need more than an hour, that's perfectly fine - the goal is to get a result.
- New insights and perspectives - it is often difficult for business owners to see their businesses clearly. They become enmeshed in keeping the business going, getting that next sale, keeping their team together. In a very short space of time, Mickey is able to talk through difficulties and offer alternative ways to approach and fix them.
- A new way forward - during the Sit-down, Mickey works to jointly find quick steps that can be taken to target the areas of the business that need clearer goals and strategies, to try something new. These steps are discussed, agreed to and clearly documented for a follow-up chat.
- Real, rapid change - many business owners find change difficult, primarily because it takes time and effort they don't have, and can sometimes create tensions. Sometimes the biggest business change starts as the result of a small personal or change in management techniques.
About Mickey Clark
Mickey Clark is a successful entrepreneur and one of Australia's leading advisers to small business owners.
Mickey has walked the walk. He has succeeded as a small business owner, having started and grown his own business from scratch to a multi-million dollar enterprise, with a highly engaged, highly productive work culture.
He has advised businesses - from very small to very large multi-nationals - for over 30 years and across four continents, specialising in rapid business turnaround.
He has helped these businesses in many areas - from providing an experienced sounding board for owners and executives, to helping find easier ways to grow, to seeking out investment opportunities, to fixing profit, sales and personnel problems.
He genuinely loves this stuff. His singular passion in business is helping small business owners and executives improve their businesses and their lives.
“Perhaps of most value to me personally was the coaching and mentoring Mickey provided me on how to be a better business owner and executive. I learned a great deal about what successful business leaders and executives do (and don’t do). He always advised me in a calm and gentle manner, which made the whole experience for me, enjoyable and non-confrontational.
I always felt that Mickey truly had my (and my company’s) best interests at heart, and while his observations sometimes forced me to take a good hard look at myself, his style was gentle, non-judgemental, and insightful. When I think of him, I think of gentle wisdom coupled with vast experience. ”
“In the time we have known him, Mickey has helped me in a number of ways: increasing profitability/revenues, creating new sales processes, redefining our product and service pricing, and redesigning our Terms and Conditions.
We got so much done, in such a short time.
He helped us create a structured monthly operations meeting, a set of guidelines for our younger managers, and an internal projects tracking system. Perhaps most importantly to me on a personal level, he spent time here and there counselling me in my Managing Director responsibilities.”
“Mickey has a real gift for being able to quickly understand different business situations we present to him, and has provided excellent strategic advice.
He just ‘gets it’.
One of the key differences between our experience with Mickey and other business mentors has been his ability to be quickly and deeply connected with many aspects of the business, including financials, marketing, HRM, sales, project management, improving internal systems and processes, and long term strategic vision.
On a personal level, Mickey has provided fantastic support, guidance and a perspective that can only come from an experienced CEO of a small company. He has become a great friend and one whose opinion I highly value and respect.”
“When I seek out an advisor, coach and mentor, I don’t want someone who has only studied executive coaching and merely tells me what they’ve been taught.
I want someone who has built a business from scratch, through hard work, taking risks, failures and success and ultimately triumph, where they have personally led a business to heights they and their competitors never thought possible.
I found that person and a great advisor and coach in Mickey, from OutsiderMD, who used his extensive business experience in growing one of the most successful online learning businesses in Australia.”
